Grand Taipei Bakery, Box Hill

went to this place for lunch today cause i have heard from ting saying it had very traditional chinese/taiwaness food, she speically likes the rice ball.

anyway, i ordered set meal B, it has stick rice, veggie, pork and mushroom soup and sweet soy milk ($11.00):

the pork and mushroom soup is okay, average.
the stick rice was quite nice, they put bit tomato sauce on it, tasted good though we dont usually do that in shanghai:
this the veggie including in the set meal:
here it is, ting's favourite rice ball, it was bigger than i thought, and had very crispy chinese dough , pork foss coating with steamed stick rice. i like that too, it costs only $3.60spring onion pancake ($2.5). it made from stick rice flour rather than plain flour as we do in shanghai. tasted okay, but not what we are expected:yiyi had this pork rib noddle soup($7.5). the bowl was huge that she couldnt finish it in the end. the pork ribs were very tender, actually i think it was overcooked a bit, but yiyi quite liked it.
ting had this beef noddle soup, again it was too much for her to finish. quite a lot beef there, certainly worth the money($7.5)
address of the place: 594 Station StBox Hill, VIC 3128Tel: 03 9898 8866
PS. dont be fooled by the appearence, it combines a bakery, but you still can order food and eat inside.
cheap but good eats!
